I had the most awesome sauce time at Brown University this summer. The trips they took us on were on another level, the friends I made were amazing, they had endless activities, and I took an amazing course. During this summer I stayed in Champlain Hall and I got so lucky. I made the most amazing friends. We stayed up all night, talked, ate lots of cheese cake, and bonded on such a deep an amazing level. Outside of the dorm I made tons of friends in my class as it was playwriting and they were all extroverted theater kids. There is so many stories I have from this program but I did get one big take away from the playwriting course.
I am not an artist. I am an ENTERTAINER. I learned that I will never connect with overtly abstract and pretentious theater, but that my home in theater is one that takes us far away to forget our troubles and feel. I want to make the world laugh. I do not want my audience to leave my shows thinking about their moral responsibilities and place in the order of the world. I am proud to be an ENTERTAINER and I cannot wait to tell my stories and entertain the masses.
